Carolyn Bews

Carolyn and her team are all focused on continuous professional development, ensuring classes are up to date and evolving to maximise our client's development and enjoyment.

Carolyn Bews 

Owner and Lead Instructor

Carolyn has over 33 years experience in the dance and fitness industry. Her career started out as a dancer becoming qualified to teach classical ballet and modern Jazz, this evolved to various forms of exercise to music classes. Along the way she has trained in multiple forms of group exercise, and advanced gym instruction. Carolyn was responsible for choreographing the fitness routines for the entire Butlin's group and has over the years managed private Health Cubs in the London area and has been responsible for coordinating and programming many fitness studios in the South East. 

 

In 2005 she moved to Leek with her husband James where she studied with Future Fit School of Pilates in 2006 and holds the level 3 qualification, specialising in group classes and one on one training for those with varying conditions. Over these years she has attended various workshops on spinal conditions and small equipment. She has built up a great reputation for offering safe, effective, innovative and very importantly fun Pilates Classes in Leek. 

 

James is a registered Osteopath in Leek (www.jamesbews.co.uk) and lectures at the college of Osteopathy. He regularly assists Carolyn to offer effective care packages for those with injuries including disc prolapse.

Michelle Denny 

Instructor

Michelle started her career as a professional dancer, taking her all over the world. While working as a dancer she gained Level 3 Exercise to Music and Gym Instructor qualifications along with other qualifications in fitness, including Yoga, Spin and Zumba. In 2014 she qualified in level 3 Pilates, working alongside Carolyn over this time at the studio. She also continues to teach Dance and has done for over 14 years, she is currently Head of Dance at Newcastle-under-Lyme College. 

 

Michelle brings her vast experience and passion for movement to provide varied, effective classes at all levels.

Sam Moss
Sam Moss 

Instructor

Sam has loved sports and fitness all her life and in 2013 she made a career change into teaching fitness. She qualified in exercise to music and gym instruction, including spinning and all the Les Mills programmes to name a few, working in many health clubs and studios in Staffordshire. She gained her level 3 pilates qualification in 2018 and started teaching at the studio under Carolyn's guidance. Over the last year she has spent much time developing her pilates teaching, bringing a great energy to all her classes. In 2019 she completed a level 3 diploma in Hatha Yoga. 

James Bews 

Osteopath

Sometimes we find that our clients require that little extra help so we work closely with James Bews Osteopathy & Rehab Clinic, combine a range of Osteopathic, Sports Injury & Physiotherapy techniques to provide you the very best treatment, should you need it.

With over 18 years experience James treats Postural Aches & Pains, Injury Rehabilitation as well as Fitness & Sports Coaching, he is well placed to help many painful injuries and conditions. He treats a wide range of people from all walks of life; 70% of his patients are just regular people with regular aches and pains! 

James is a qualified and fully registered Osteopath, having completed a 5yr B.Ost. His qualifications also include Acupuncture and an MDip in Sport Injury & Massage Therapy combined with Exercise Instruction and Fitness testing. Your treatment will be a blend of Osteopathic and sports therapy techniques. Acupuncture and Ultrasound may also be used to enhance your treatment plan, although all treatment will be discussed and agreed with the patient first.
